A Little Creative Joy: Sun, BIrds, & Joyful Marks

Summer has a way of waking things up.

Birdsong in the morning.
Sunlight dancing through leaves.
Little moments of brightness tucked into ordinary days.

In this relaxed art gathering, we’ll create sun-inspired and bird-inspired mixed media pieces using watercolor, painted papers, collage layers, and simple drawing.

You might create a joyful little bird, a sunshine-filled scene, or an abstract piece full of color and light.

Along the way we’ll add optional tiny words, encouraging phrases, or scripture slips that turn each piece into a small reminder of hope and joy.

This workshop celebrates the simple beauty of creating without pressure—just paint, paper, and the quiet joy of making something by hand.

A Little Creative Joy: Christmas in July

Let’s take a joyful pause in the middle of summer and create a little Christmas magic together.

Instead of rushing through holiday crafts in December, we’ll gather now—when the pace of life is a little gentler—to make handmade Christmas cards, collage ornaments, and small mixed-media pieces that can be tucked away and gifted later.

We’ll play with painted papers, festive colors, whimsical imagery, and meaningful words or scripture as we create pieces filled with joy, warmth, and hope.

Think cozy winter creativity… but with sunshine outside the window.

No art experience needed—just come ready to slow down, create, and share a little joy that can brighten someone’s Christmas months from now.

A Little Creative Joy: Wildflowers Play

Wildflowers do not try to be the same.

They grow where they are planted—stretching toward the sun, blooming in their own time, and bringing unexpected beauty to the landscape.

In this relaxed mixed media workshop, we’ll explore wildflower-inspired art using watercolor, collage papers, painted pages, and playful mark making. Layer by layer, flowers will begin to bloom across bookmarks, greeting cards, journal pages, or small artworks.

You might create a loose field of flowers, a whimsical bouquet, or a single joyful bloom. Along the way, we’ll add optional encouraging word slips or scripture fragments that make each piece feel like a small note of joy.

No art experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to play with color, paper, and possibility

The Reinvention Talisman

The Reinvention Talisman

A Gentle, Guided Art Workshop for Women in Transition

There comes a moment in life when something shifts.

A role changes.
A relationship ends.
A career evolves.
Or a quiet inner voice says, “It’s time.”

If you are standing at that threshold, this workshop offers a calm, welcoming space to pause and honor who you have been — and who you are becoming.

In this contemplative 3-hour experience, you will:

• Reflect on what is changing in your life
• Clarify the qualities you want to carry forward
• Create a handcrafted metal talisman to wear as a reminder

No art experience is needed.
All materials are provided.

This is not about perfect technique.
It is about marking a moment with intention.

Led by Novie Trump, a longtime sculptor and educator newly based in Winston-Salem, this small group workshop blends thoughtful reflection with hands-on making in a supportive environment.

You will leave with a finished talisman — and a deeper connection to your next chapter.

Limited to 12 women.
$165 per person.
Pre-registration required.

We’ll play with color, pattern, and texture as we weave, cut, layer, and embellish. These little houses make delightful encouragement cards to tuck into gifts, give to friends, or keep for yourself. No experience needed — just come, slow down, and enjoy some creative joy together.

All supplies provided. Families are welcome. Participants may create more than one piece.

The Reinvention Talisman

The Reinvention Talisman

A Gentle, Guided Art Workshop for Women 40+ in Transition

There comes a moment in midlife when something shifts.

A relationship ends.
A role changes.
A career evolves.
Children leave.

Led by Novie Trump, a longtime sculptor and educator newly based in Winston-Salem, this small group workshop blends thoughtful reflection with hands-on making in a supportive and respectful environment.

You will leave with a finished talisman — and a deeper connection to your next chapter.

Limited to 12 women.
$165 per person.
Pre-registration required.

Sip & Paint a Mural!

Tickets Here!

Learn the mural business, paint real walls, and complete 3 hallway murals at The Open Studio with Christina Parrish Art.

Join Christina Parrish Art for a multi-night Sip & Paint mural experience at The Open Studio, combining education, hands-on painting, and real-world mural practice.

Night 1 – Education & Prep
An in-depth session covering the ins and outs of the mural business: how to get started, supplies to use, pricing and booking best practices, and a Q & A session. Participants will begin transferring one of three mural designs to the wall.

Night 2 – Painting Day
Wear your paint clothes and get hands-on experience painting. Choose from three mural designs and help bring them to life as we paint the hallway at The Open Studio together.

Optional Open Paint Nights (Wednesdays 3/4, 3/11, 3/18)
Optional work sessions for participants to continue painting and complete the murals they began. These nights offer time to refine, collaborate, and finish the murals at your own pace.

This experience is perfect for artists interested in mural work, creative entrepreneurs, and anyone wanting real-world painting experience on a large scale.
